Coating machines are widely used in pharmaceutical and food processing applications. During operation, materials are continuously rolled inside the rotating pan while hot air is used to dry the coating layer. In long-term operation, factors such as material properties, operating conditions, and component wear may affect coating performance.

1. Insufficient Hot Airflow

Low airflow can affect drying efficiency and extend the coating process. Check and clean the blower inlet filter regularly to remove dust and material residue. If the blower overheats, stop the machine and allow the motor to cool before restarting. The hot-air duct should also be checked for accumulated material or blockages.

2. Excessive Vibration or Noise

Abnormal vibration may be caused by an unstable installation, material buildup, or loose components. Make sure the machine is properly supported on a level floor. Clean material residue from the drive wheel and inspect the motor mounting bolts. Worn drive components should be replaced when necessary.

3. Material Sticking or Agglomeration

Material may stick together when the coating liquid is applied too quickly or drying is insufficient. Adjust the hot-air conditions at the beginning of coating and control the spray rate. Applying the coating liquid in smaller amounts with sufficient drying time can help reduce agglomeration.

4. Uneven Coating

Uneven coating may result in insufficient material movement or improper airflow. Adjust the hot-air direction so that it covers the main material movement area. Reduce the coating spray rate and allow the material to roll sufficiently between applications. The pan angle can also be adjusted to improve material circulation.

Regular cleaning, inspection, and adjustment of operating parameters can help reduce common coating problems, maintain consistent coating quality, and extend equipment service life.
